Getting to Know You...
The street that we live on is very friendly and neighborly. The neighbors seem to know everyone on the street. They could even detail to us the changes that were made to our house with each successive owner since it was built 6 years ago. The kids play together in the warm evenings and weekends. The neighbor's kids (from the neighbor on our right) are amazingly talkative and social with adults at 5 and 8 years of age.
The neighbor on our right is Korean. The wife is a believer, but the husband is not. I wonder if it is hard for her spiritually. She has been very friendly and open in talking with us. She asked us the first time we met if we were Christians. She thought that we might have been named after characters in the Bible.
The neighbor on our left is Caucasian. They are an older couple, near retirement age. Their youngest daughter is in her 20s. We were surprised to see her at "family greeting time" at church service this past Sunday at Rock Harbor. What a small world!
Perhaps God has interesting plans for us as His witnesses on our street. The friendliness of our neighbors could provide many open doors for conversations on a deeper level.
