Moving
We moved in to our new home on Monday. A, with help from our former apartment's repairman, learned a lot about setting up house. He disconnected and reconnected the washer and dryer, changed air filters in the ventilation system, removed the refrigerator door so that it can fit through the doorway, and removed doors from their hinges to move furniture into the bedrooms. The master bathroom has a jetted tub, which we both enjoyed and appreciated after a long day of moving.
We're still in the process of unpacking and spreading out across 2 floors and 5x more space. In the process of deciding where to put our furniture, I created our home in Sims 2 in as close to scale as possible. (1 square in Sims 2 grid = 2 feet x 2 feet in real life.) I had fun picking out additional furniture for the family room, dining room, and living room areas. I even threw in a weird armchair shaped like a panda just for fun. =)

I think it's awesome that you're using Sims to map out house layouts. If you write it up in more detail (with screenshots and then pics of your actual home w/ furniture) you could probably get on Digg or something like that.
Congrats, Esther on the new home. We are looking forward to spending some quality time there with you guys in July!
