Florida - Day 12 - Magic Kingdom
A special perk for staying on Disney property is the chance to enter the parks a few hours early and to stay a few hours later. The Extra Magic Hours for today were for an early entrance into the Magic Kingdom. We took the Disney shuttle to the park, waited in line with hundreds of visitors for the park to open early, and then rushed to get in line for Space Mountain and Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

The Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor stars the characters from the movie Monsters, Inc. Just like Turtle Talk with Crush, several live actors / comedians speak for monsters. They tell jokes and involve the audience. The CG is cool here too; the monsters move in sync with the jokes and words from the comedians. The audience can also send a text message of a joke to the Monsters, Inc. team. If it's funny, they will use your joke in the show.

I still have lots of fun at Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. It was hard to see where my laser gun was pointing at, so it was hard to aim at the targets. I ended up just shooting everywhere and trying to figure out which red laser dot was from my gun. And if you're wondering, Andy's score did beat mine by a large amount. =)
One thing we noticed about Splash Mountain was that the ride at Disney World was shorter than the ride at Disneyland. Our main theory is that the ride is shorter because of the weather at Disney World. In the summer, thunderstorms are in the forecast everyday. With thunderstorms and lightning so frequent, it would be dangerous to expose visitors on a water ride to the elements. The Splash Mountain ride at Disney World had a lot of the twists and bends outside the mountain cut out.

We left the Magic Kingdom and went to Downtown Disney for dinner. It was a lively place to walk around and enjoy the cool evening breeze.
