Florida - Day 11 - Epcot
We had 3.5 days left in Florida. We had already planned to go to 3 parks in Disney World, one for each day: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios. We were originally going to spend the 1/2 day at Disney Quest (Andy described it like a big Dave & Buster's), but decided to go to Epcot instead.

The last time I went to Disney World was 9 years ago. The last time Andy went to Disney World was 7 years ago. We were looking forward to checking out the new rides and shows.
One of the new rides at Epcot was Mission: Space. The audience is part of the crew and acts as engineer, pilot, and other roles to help land the space shuttle safely on Mars. There were two lines for the ride: the more turbulent Orange ride and the Green ride for those who get motion sickness. I insisted on riding the Green side, since I get motion sickness watching others play first-person shooters. The ride was mild. Next time, I'll try the Orange ride to be more adventurous.

Disney and Pixar merged in 2006 and I'm sure the Imagineers took the opportunity to incorporate more Pixar-themed rides into the parks. At The Seas with Nemo and Friends, the visitors take a ride down a long aquarium, as the characters from Finding Nemo talk about the fish inside the aquarium. At the end of the ride, visitors get to walk around the giant aquariums, seeing dolphins, jellyfish, and other sealife underwater. There's an amusing show as well, called Turtle Talk with Crush. A live comedian plays Crush, as he answers questions from kids in the live audience and jokes with them. It's amazing how Crush's movements and expressions move in sync with what the comedian is saying behind the screen.

We were hit with a thunderstorm in the afternoon. We hid from the downpour in the Japanese section of World Showcase and ate lunch in Mitsukoshi Restaurant.

We stayed for the fireworks show IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and then went back to our hotel Disney's Pop Century Resort for a good night's rest.
