Florida - Day 9 - Busch Gardens
I used to watch Jack Hanna's Animal Adventures on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. It was a TV show about animals. Parts of the show was filmed at Busch Gardens in Tampa Bay, Florida. I was really looking forward to going to Busch Gardens to see what it was like up close.

Tampa Bay is about an hour's drive from Orlando. We had to take a shuttle bus (provided by Busch Gardens) from Universal Studios. Along the way, we watched the movie Agent Cody Banks on the bus.
Busch Gardens is famous for close access to animals in their natural environments. On the ride Rhino Rally, visitors ride in a jeep all over the savanna. The animals are allowed to roam freely within the savanna. Deep trenches keep natural predators (like lions) away from their natural preys.

My favorite part was when we went on a "Behind the Scenes" tour. We got to meet the zookeepers and get close to hippos, giraffes, flamingos, sloths, and possums. We even got the opportunity to feed the giraffes from the back of trucks. That was so cool.

The giraffe Andy is feeding is named Dolly.
