Our Newest Neighbor
We found this mourning dove nesting in our backyard on Friday afternoon. She probably thought she had the perfect hiding place in our palm tree and didn't realize that her nest is right next to our family room window. The photographer in me couldn't miss this chance to capture nature in action. =)

The parents don't leave their nest very often. According to Wikipedia, the male incubates the eggs in the morning and afternoon and the female incubates the eggs the rest of the day and in the evening. The shot below was taken in the late afternoon, perhaps when the male and female were switching incubation duties.
