The little group of friends gathered around the birthday cake looked small. My friends and I celebrated my co-worker Amy's birthday today. When we started celebrating each other's birthdays over a year ago, there were 6 of us. Since then, one friend has left for another company in Mountain View and another friend has left for a company in Southern California. Tomorrow, another one will leave to start her PhD studies at Cornell. It's a little sad to see my friends go one by one.
