Happy thoughts
* I made my own smoothie for the 1st time last night, using the great ingredients still left at Kittoe from this weekend. Thanks to the people who brought frozen fruit, juice, and ice cream! I put in extra vanilla ice cream in my smoothie last night because I wanted to finish the rest of the ice cream in the container. It turned my smoothie so creamy and thick that I had to eat it with a spoon. Yum...
* Yay for the government officials who are on top of things for the election yesterday. The voting booths now print a hard-copy of your votes so that you can verify the selections saved electronically. The voting place volunteer also told me that the hard-copy of the votes were also going to be used in place of the electronic votes if it was discovered that the touchscreen voting booths were hacked into. I also heard on the news that thousands of questionable voting booths were never taken out of the warehouses for yesterday's primary elections because they didn't pass the criteria or weren't verified. I'm glad that my government workers are making sure that our votes count.
* My friend from Amgen in SoCal emailed me today and said that there were many positions open in her group. (For those of you who are not familiar with Amgen, it's a huge biotech firm in SoCal much like Genentech in South San Francisco.) It's too bad that Amgen's located in Thousand Oaks, 1 hour and 40 minutes away from Riverside, without traffic. It's so far away. I remember driving from Amgen to Temple City (where my parents live) when I worked there for an internship and the drive took 1 hour, without traffic, and 2-3 hours, with traffic.
