new job

I got a job offer much earlier than I expected. One week after I applied for a job posting at Beckman Coulter, I got called in for an interview. One technical presentation and several weeks later, I got a job offer with a 10% raise in salary. That blows my mind. Researching the job market, I had thought that it would take me at least 6 months to find a job and I would have to take a pay cut. God works in amazing ways.

In my new job, I will be working as a chemical process engineer, overseeing reagent manufacturing for Beckman Coulter. You know those lab tests that your doctor orders? Beckman Coulter makes the instruments, tests, and reagents that analyze your blood samples. I'll be working in the factory that makes those reagents more reliable and more cheaply than before, which will greatly benefit the patient in the end.
