We're back!

We've been back in SoCal for about a week. The honeymoon was soooo relaxing. I love Kauai. Our hotel (Grand Hyatt) was great. It had 3 of the top restaurants on Kauai, one of the top-rated spas, and great swimming pools complete with waterfalls, a water slide, and jacuzzi. And yes, we ventured out of our hotel as well. =) We went snorkeling together for the first time, took a complimentary scuba diving lesson at the salt water lagoon at the Hyatt (only went down to 12 feet), ate at great restaurants, took a tour of the Waimea Canyon, and took a boat tour of the Napali coast. We spent 7 days and 6 nights at Kauai. We were sad to leave.

We then island hopped to Oahu. We stayed there 4 days and 4 nights. Compared to Kauai, Oahu is super commercialized and looked just like LA or SF. =) Kauai has a law that prohibits buildings taller than 4 stories high. It really preserved the feel of a tropical island not to see all those towering buildings. Oahu was fun in its own way. We saw sea turtles, stingrays, sea lions, dolphins, and penguins up close in the Sea Life Park. We went to Pearl Harbor and spent all day on USS Arizona Memorial, USS Bowfin (submarine), and USS Missouri (last battleship ever built). On the third day, we spent all day that the Polynesian Cultural Center. We saw people climb coconut trees, crack open coconuts and learned about the different musical instruments that the Hawaiians use. On the last day, we took it easy and spent the day doing what we love: playing games on our DS and GBA on our hotel porch, watching the sun go down. =D

Since then, we've settled into our one-bedroom apartment. We're still opening boxes and putting stuff away. Andy's gone back to a full week of work and I've been discovering the locations of the supermarkets in our neighborhood. =) I'll update with more pictures later.
