Choose to Rejoice
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!" (Philippians 4:8)
I can force myself to put on a happy face. I can tell myself to be more optimistic in my circumstances. I can remind myself about my blessings. In the end, it is choosing to rejoice that will set my attitude straight.
I choose to rejoice not because I look around and consider myself lucky. I choose to rejoice not because it is better than moping around. I choose to rejoice because I am reminded of God's promises and of my hope. (See the last entry.) He's the source of my joy.
